Please - what was the dilution for a spray?

1.5 aspirin (81 gr. strength) to two gallons of water. Important note: The tablets should be the uncoated type.

I also wrote down that you should add a bit of soft soap and spray every 3 weeks.  Hope this helps.   :)

I have to have all tablets checked and certain foods in tins.

Smallest amount of aspirin stops my heart.  Found out the hard way with Bonjella  :o

Now I've heard everything!!

Mind you I was told that if you planted the PILL in African violets this improved their growth and wellbeing, so I guess anything goes!!

Is  81 gr. strength the same as 81mg baby aspirin?

Just read the links to the articles on aspirin as a plant tonic and am very interested to hear some advice from more experienced folks on using various tonics and foliar feeds on plants.  I *really* want to see my tomato plants bear fruit this year after a miserable summer in 2007 but am interested in perhaps using an aspirin feed as a booster on most of my plants.   :)

I am growing some tomatoes in containers at home and though they are late in developing compared to many here, they seem to be thriving (touch wood!).  The plants planted in the ground at the allotment were quite waterlogged and are very small and miserable in June but are now starting to really green up and put on some growth; that said I am not sure that they will do very well on site because we tend to get a lot of potato blight  ::)...

My question is, how would you go about setting up a 'feeding' schedule using the various tonics suggested in multiple threads?  I've read threads suggesting a tomato feed (not too much nitrogen), seaweed feed, comfrey tea and now an aspirin spray.   In reality I could probably handle providing the seaweed, aspirin and tomato feed (especially for the container plants).  But how often should the sprays go on and should they be done all together or spaced out over several days throughout the week or during a two week cycle?  Would the seaweed interfere with the aspirin?  Could we put all of these ingredients together into one super mega-spray or would that just overwhelm the plants with too much potent goodness?

Looking forward to hearing what you suggest - this is a fantastic forum for advice and I haven't posted much but have learned a huge amount for all of the regular posters here (so thank you!)  :D

Unless you are very 'organic', just stick to one simple feed - a high Potash 'Tomato' fertilser.
Recommended at once a week when the first truss sets, & then twice.

Aspirin is only 'an immune system boost'.

I've just been doing more googling (dangerous thing) and it sounds like aspirin is definitely not something to add to regular feeds;  more like a 'once every month or two ' sort of booster if and when plants are stressed.  Some people seem to use it when transplanting seedings as well.

Quick question for Tim (if I may!) - do you add seaweed to your regular tomato feed?
