I planted some rocket in potato planters and the first ones that i planted at the end of march look a bit dodgy. The leaves and stems look really limp ,i dug around and found a few small spuds but also something not quite right ,like squashy.I ready don't want to look any further incase its not good news.
What do you think it could be ?

well, the squishy could be the seed potato, worn out..we've had some plants die off, earlies, done their job  :)

Hi,  We have been digging Rocket potatoes for the last two weeks from the ground, but I have noticed one soggy one in most roots but all the others were scrumy, so I think it must be the one that you set, my other half said it was. You may be O.K.  good luck.

Seems like your seed potato has rotted off, did you have drainage holes in the bucket.
When you wake up on a morning say "good morning world" and be grateful

I too forked up a couple of potato plants (epicure)and found a squishy rotting potato in the centre. Does the seed potato always do this? The plants have flowered and the leaves look healthy, but there are just a few button size potatoes next to them...

The seed spud always rots, so don't worry about it.

that's good news. Now flowers yet but still the spuds seemed to be ready although small. There are drainage holes , its one of those potato grow bags.

Thanks

Barnowl

Don't forget you need to water (and feed) containers with spuds in.
