Where can you get citric acid from? I can't seem to find it anywhere?  ???

I have been told it is harder to get due to its use in making illegal substances...

Cheers druggies, can't even get wine making stuff easily!

If you have an Indian grocery store nearby - ask in there.

There are plenty of suppliers in the UK.
All chemists most healthfood shops and anywhere that sells homebrew equipment or kits will stock it. Obviously they can refuse to sell it & will sometimes keep it out of site so you have to ask for it but as it is commonly used to make heroin soluble so it can be injected you can't really blame people for trying to discourage certain individuals from buying it.
Any company that sells industrial cleaning products, soap making supplies or a bulk chemical supplier will be able to supply large quantities at a very reasonable price. As an example a 25kg bag costs £25+vat from this company:

I bought it from Wilkinson last year from their homebrew section.

Thanks for all replies, ended up using extra lemons, but have a good litre of elderflower syrup now  :)
