At 7.30 this evening I was going back & to to the GH. I had left a bag of hedgehog food by the back door as I had been sorting out the wild food bin. As I went into the house I looked down & there was a HH in the bag of food munching away. It had ripped the paper.  At this time of year previously they came to feed at about 10ish. It seemed fine but I will keep an eye out.
I bought a second HH house at the week-end so heres hoping. It wasn't fully grown but will soon put weight on if it carries on eating like that. There are also sunflowers, chopped peanuts, a dry mix & water for them.

Lucky you - I have a walled garden so there is little or no chance of my ever seeing one here.

Great, hope he keeps on eating. ::)

I am keeping an eye open for the return of my hedgehog.  Think he is around cos I have found poo here and there but not caught him at the bird feeder yet.

Tricia they can climb so you never know. Keep an eye out for poo.

It looks like I should be worried. The hedgehog had diarrhrea (sp) last night & was out & about this morning. I will keep an eye on it.

This may sound like a silly question but
What does hedgehog poo look like?

We just got to have a photo.

I know rabbit's looks like coffee beans. and  mouse droppings look like little grey pellets.

Hi PH. I always think that HH poo looks like a squeeze of toothpaste but is black.
There are several HHs visiting atm. I am putting spike  dry HH food out for them & there isn't much left in the morning. The more the merrier I say.

Good description...black toothpaste. It often appears sort of smeared across the grass on the lawn.
