:'( i dont know what ive done but i suspect they dont like the pop up greenhouse, they were fine in the conservatory but have been outside for a few weeks impatiently waiting for me to clear space at the lotty and the weather 2 blumin well cheer up, i suspect they wont wait any longer! the ones that the slugs havent eaten roughly 50% have got leaves curling up into themselves, ive taken them out the pop up greenhouse now and seperated healthy from poorly and will take healthy ones down the plot this week (wether permitting!!!) to plant as i clear like ive done with the spuds, but im wandering if theyll recover or are they diseased or??? if it is blight does that mean all the toms have 2 go or should the others be ok? ive planted up 3 healthy ones in a grow bag to see how they do before transferring the rest to the lotty.... fingers crossed! any advice welcome and much appreciated!!
i think i like it here :D now who can tell me how to grow my own chocolate???

No, far too early/cold for blight yet... some just curl up when they are miffed.. most grow out of it... unless you have been down wind of Hormone Weed Killer..   :-X

phew glad its not blight, and not guilty of either of the others, theyre in a pop up greenhouse and i dont use chemicals and if u saw the neighbours gardens youd know they dont either (rotfl!) no greenfly either and we have a very healthy ladybird population so they wouldnt last long if we did :) all different sorts of ladybirds which is fab, i guess they were just miffed, i dont think they get as much light there as they did in the conservatory, i guess id best hope for some decent weather over half term and get cracking with planting them!!! maybe then theyll perk up! i didnt want to take them down if i was taking blight with me, theyre going next to the spuds as per rotation thingy and i dont want to kill them too :( thanx guys u rock!  :-*

An inward roll on young leaves is a sign of healthy plants, if it is on the older leaves it usually  caused excess leafing or a wide variation of day and night temperatures.
When you wake up on a morning say "good morning world" and be grateful

You are very lucky to have a good ladybird population Loopy, I have only seen 1 two spot native in my garden :'( :'(. Saw a few Harlequins in April but even those have disapeared now :-\

i dont know much about ladybirds but were well populated by black spot red spot and i think last yr i counted up to at least 16 on one of the ladybugs, i think they like the neighbours wildlife gardens :) i suppose i should try and get pictures of them as i know some are rare, doubt weve any rare ones mind you, altho that said we havent as many this yr as last, last yr they were living all over the pop up greenhouse! i wish i knew what it was they liked about last yr, maybe the weather?
davy glad 2 know my plants are healthy, it is an inward curl rather than an outward under the leaf type curl, fingers crossed they dont get too miffed in theyre pots before i move them on, regards temp changes i dont know, id been leaving the greenhouse open so maybe it was getting too cold at night? either way many thanx for the advice :) lou xx

Several of our members (and me)  have had the young curly leaf syndrome which has gone away as the plants grew.

I just think that the north winds we have had has reduced temperatures more than we realise and the poor things are simply hugging up to keep warm.

I have loads of tomato plants so put some out doors two weeks ago. (It was that or compost them, no one else wanted to adopt) They are all alive but no additional growth at all, so no curly leaves on them.

going on the wind this morning and the rapidly dropping temps im glad i didnt drag the kids down the lotty to plant the toms, i dont think theydve survived (toms too! kids hate the wind!), as it is i need to find them a sheltered spot in the garden, where has this awfull weather come from now!?!?!? u watch ill loose all of them over the weekend, if it isnt wind itll b slugs :( havent the space indoors now and the peppers are in the outdoors thingy, sweetcorn is indoors...have been frantically evicting seedlings today in the hopes that bunch planting some might survive... i found 3 decent sized slugs hiding in the rudbeckia seed tray so after stabbing them and planting out im hoping theyre ok... just got to hope the cats dont toilet on them now too :S maybe the curly toms will cheer up with the rain?? fingers crossed we get something to cropping this yr!!! next yr im turning my gareden into a polytunnel i swear! its only small im sure the kids wouldnt mind a tropical garden :) he he!
