Just thought I would share this with you all.  It is my 47th Wedding Anniversary today.  Just been out for a lovely meal with the family.  Trouble is the portions were so large I popped some in a 'doggy bag' for my boys :D

Congratulations on reaching your 47th Anniversary Pat.  What a wonderful achievement.  Hope you had a lovely meal.  Had I have asked for a doggie bag other half would have had me squirming with embarrasment by saying "OH Goody we are getting a dog" :-[ :-\ :-[  We have two by the way but he loves to see me going beetroot.
Take time to stop and smell the flowers.

Gardengirl

Thank you Mimi :)  Actually I didn't have to go through the embarrasment of asking for a doggy bag - we always go prepared :D

Congratulations! ;) and well done to you and yours truly, :) glad you enjoyed yourself. I'm 10 years behind you and catching you up fast, I'm sure my Wife picked April Fools Day just so I wouldn't forget ::)

47 years Pat now that's really something.  :D

I never used to get embarrrassed asking for a doggie bag - after all we'd paid for the meal - so why not. Blue would sit beside my handbag when we got home and.... well you'll know what I mean when I say there was a bit of 'Lab drool' around until he got his share!!

Only three years to go until the really BIG one.  :) I've only got another few years until it's my 40th - don't know how Ian's put up with me for soooo long.  ::)

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY PAT!!

Many congratulations Pat.  Great achievement 47 years. It is 34 years in November for my husband and me.  Hope your boys enjoyed the doggie bag.  ;D busy_lizzie

Congratulations, Pat!  We were 43 this year and for the very first time we forgot - lucky (and a bit coincidental) wasn't it that we both forgot so no one could be blamed.  Don't you just wonder where the years have gone tho?  Really really doesn't seem possible, only wish we could have another 40+

Thank you all for your lovely messages - I too wonder where the years have gone, but then I was a 'child bride' you understand ;D :D ;)  Yes, only three years to the big one but I don't think I can persuade hub to have a big party - I am afraid he is just not that way inclined - probably be just family and close friends.  If I had my way I would invite all my A4A friends and we could have a really good bash :D

congratulations to you, we have a variation on the doggy bag- a 'catty' bag for out girl cats, a sniff of it when we get home and they are circling us until it's down!
my other half's grandparents celebrated their 60th this year, had a telegram from the queen! here's to yours!

Congratulations! What a wonderful thing to have 37 years together! I missed out first time round and made a mistake, but now I have the 'one for life' so I really appreciate the values of stickability and the prospect of 'completing the course' together with a partner for life.
And isn't is all about compromise!?!
Toast to the future for both of you!!!
Lots of love CL xxx  8)

PS....I get doggie bags all the time! My lurcher needs payback when we've left her to go out for dinner. Rest of time...especially round home...she comes too!

Gardengirl

Thanks for the extra messages - I'm really touched that you all care  :).....and CL glad that your new man is 'the one' - by the way it's more stickability than you think '47' ::) ;) :)
