I cut the same way, it is a gift.

well my long gone grandmother could cut bread as thin as anything and she'd do it with the bread upright and cut sideways (if you see what I mean) - door stops pour moi  ;D

My OH cuts bread exactly like that, and the cheese ends up looking like a 'C' for cheese ::)
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.

In summer, when the first tomatoes have ripened, I sometimes crave tomato sandwiches....thin, thin bread, Danish butter... 8)

Method:   Buy loaf of bread from bakery 2 miles away.
Drive to friend, abt 5 miles from bakery.
Watch in admiration as she slices it paper-thin.
Drive myself and sliced bread 7 miles back home
Freeze spare slices 'til the next time the craving hits me

;D

PS bakeries used to thinly slice bread? Now the choices are 'medium' 'thick' and 'extra thick'.

So usually I buy baguettes.

Danish? Oh, you wicked, wicked woman!!

Yes - Ilike a thin wrapper. After all, it's only to keep your fingers clean! Next time, I'll slice it for you, Lishka - using Lakeland's wonderful 'gadget'.

Grandma

Oh, Tim - that picture really takes me back!

My dear old Nan used to stand the loaf on its bottom, butter the top and then cut it - (towards her!) The bit left always looked exactly like yours but each cut slice was perfectly straight and paper-thin! Never ceased to amaze me!
