I was on my plot at the weekend and was very pleased with my garlic germination rate.  I have planted 72 cloves and I'm very pleased to report every single one has sprouted and is growing well.  The varieties are Thermidrome and Germidour.  They're planted where the spuds were last year, not sure if this would make a difference?

How is everyone else's getting on?

I planted mine in Nov and the germinate rate was good too. I had 5/6 elephant garlics through by about mid Jan. The other varieties had nearly 100% germination. Have never grown garlic before so have my fingers crossed!

I put in 16 cloves, and all are growing well.  ;D  Planted out, the last week in oct.

I have just bought some more garlic, 2 types, one is elephant. The packet says to plant autumn or spring. If I plant now for the spring, when would this harvest?

About 90% of the garlic I sowed in the back garden last autumn is still going strong and an impressive 100% of the twenty or so cloves I put into the allotment a few weeks ago have sprouted too... I'm impressed! :)
