dont worry i have masses of gardening books, so ill pm you next time!!
part of my new years resolution is to STOP collecting things!! if i can swap them with something i use like seeds, works out better than hoarding stuff.

Hi Gunnerbee,

If you have books to pass on, you could also look at joining some of us in releasing books into the wild

http://www.bookcrossing.com/

or of course donate to your favourite charity

Just a thought
is it in the sale?

Just joined that, froglets - last time I dropped books off at a charity shop in Cambridge they looked absolutely crestfallen as they had too many!  :P
For myself I am an optimist - it does not seem to be much use being anything else.

froglets,

I had never heard of http://www.bookcrossing.com/ before.  I just spent an interesting 30 mins reading around the site.  I will sign up,  this seems a brill idea.

I joined last year when someone on this site reccomended it.  I haven't released a lot of books but it's so cool when someone logs a catch.  Not everyone does & it seems some can go for year through many different hands before they pop up again.

Bupster, one of the sites I work at has an Oxfam shop nearby which only sells books, mostly £2.49 for a paperback & all in good nick.  I get serious quantities of reading material from them now - might be worth looking out for either to donate, or buy from.

If anyone's near Birmingham then Oxfam has a really good bookshop in Harborne. A lot of what ends up in charity chops (I speak from experience since we have one at church) is basically unsaleable junk, but they get some good stuff as well.

On the topic of books and swaps, there is another good website I recently discovered, where you swap books with other people and only pay for the postage.

Basically you build up a library of books, and when you see a book you would like held by someone else, you ask them to swap with one of yours.

Anyway, the website explains it better than me!

My wife was reading this with me......  she is devestated ...... would have swaped me for Monty Don in a flash.
Before you criticise a man, walk a mile in his shoes. Then, when you do criticise him, you are a mile away. And you have his shoes. !!!
