if there is anyone on here not using freecycle then get signed up straight away - been thinking about getting myself a wheelbarrow for the back garden and allotment - but the price kept putting me off - so on the off chance i put a wanted mail on several local freecycle sites and within a day i had a reply from someone who had come across one, sorted it up and had it looking for a new home - so ive got a lovely brand new wheelbarrow and for nothing other than a message on freecyle - can you guess im over the moon lol ;D :D

That's brilliant! I've re-homed things through freecycle but also got loads of stuff from some WONDERFUL people, the best so far is a petrol mounfield mower that is only 2 years old!!

I agree that if anyone is not a member yet then they really should sign up, it's completley free and a fab way to stop landfill ............  www.freecycle.org

Garden shredder, new microwave for the office, small overflow freezer for the autumn veg, treadmill and exercise bike, futon and washing machine for son's pad, coldframe, oak gate, oh and got rid of a fishtank and outdoor candle holders  :)
If I ever get it all right - then that's the time to quit.

Yep, I'm an addict, too! Just wish I could get my OH to part with some of his "stuff"!

I've advertised for a greenhouse, but no luck yet. Just posted an advert for a shredder.

I signed in last year and was disappointed.  I think that we in the West Country are not well geared up to give stuff away!!!  (Others would call us mean!!)

I have seen other people getting wonderful stuff though on this site and others!!!

I now have forgotten my sign in name or whatever - Now you have nudged me to re - sign up!

Thanks!

My brother-in-law got his lottie 6 months ago. Just got a greenhouse. 4x3ft. Its enough to get his seeds started, then 2 tomato & 2 cucumber plants in. I got him to register last week!

Seen loads of greenhouses advertised on our local one - but hubby won't let me have a second one in the garden. Not allowed any at the plot  :(

Our freecycle seems very busy from the emails, but I put lots on this week (turned out attic) and all I've had are people wanting stuff and not turning up to collect ::) Now all going to the charity shop tomorrow. Have had and given stuff in the past though. I find it difficult to take without giving a little thankyou so I have swapped for a bunch of flowers from the garden or some home made chutters in the past.
Smile, it confuses people.

You're lucky if you can  get a greenhouse, Rob.  I managed to get one for a fellow allotmenteer last year but they didn't put it up >:(

I'll keep my eyes open for you - I can even deliver when my pickup comes back from the garage! :D

Old Bird - if you join the Torbay Freecycle Group you will find that there is an enormous amount of stuff wanted and offered every day  ;D.

I've found new homes for numerous items and was very pleased with the gas barbecue I managed to bring home last Spring.

This should help Rob  :).

Tricia

Thanks Tricia, but our local freecycle group is about 350 miles closer! ;D

Tricia - Many thanks you have motivated me again to get into the Freecycle thing again.  Got into my local one and it is heaps better than last time I looked!  Maybe I hit a dull time or something.

I have asked for a chicken house - you never know!  I could be lucky - will let you know.

Thanks for the inspiration!  I needed it!

Kea

I've got so fed up advertising stuff on Freecycle....not freecycles fault though it's really good. People email you and say they want something, you arrange a pick up time, often to suit them then they don't turn up and you never hear from them again.
I've just taken a never been used, in it's box still colour printer to the dump having advertised it about three times on freecycle and having the above happen.
However the guys at the dump, after an incredulous look when I said it had never been used, grabbed it and took it off to their shed.

cambourne7

kea is that on the cambridge or the new huntingdon list?
