oh lovely - we recently had a 7 legged spider in our house, huge even though down one limb

don't let this put you off but we have quite a lot of spiders in our house, don't know why - we call it Tarentula Terrace, Spider Semi, Arachna Avenue etc and we have 2 long term residents, only seen now and again, very very large - we call them Gilbert and George  ;D

I like spiders  :)

I love spiders too, they can share my home with me, specially through the winter. Come spring they are happy to leave and do the biz with flies.

We have one thats so big, you can hear its footsteps on the floor as it runs. Its so big, even the cats dont bother it.....I did offer to wash its 'Superspider' vest and cape, he declined though  ;D ;D ;D
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.

They drop legs very easily, and regrow them over several moults. It costs them a lot less than being caught and eaten.

Hiya

I love and hate spiders, depending on their size!!  ;D  Usually though, if I see them in danger (drowning, etc), I will rescue them and put them ... out of the house (or the boat in my case!)  ;) ::) ;D

Happy gardening all...........Pat

That's Tegenaria, the ordinary house spider. Ihey thrive indoors; they don't eat that much, and there's plenty for them. It probably just reached the end of its natural life.

Here's a couple from my garden.

...and here's his leg joints. No wonder they're good runners.

It looks crab like close up. :o

I'm terrified of spiders. Great when you have an allotment, I just walk around screaming.
