Tree Fruit Identification ?

Guys,

A week ago I found this in the garden, and placed it on a plate and forgot it.

It was lush green, spiky, and reminded me of a small horse chestnut.  A week later,  its brown, exploded, and small seeds are spewing forth from it.

Its probably very common,  over to you.

? Burdock from the description of the green state? Never seen one ripened..

Not burdock saddad....have you got a pic of the tree / bush it came from Riffster?
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.

No Star - no such luck.  I found it on my path, and was curious.

So I realised after I'd posted... not a tree fruit.. could it be a poorly developed Pomegranate?
