I still think that the Hunter/Algarve variety is the sweetest - & certainly freezes best.

Unlike Emma, this is our first pick, & several plants are dying.

Very Nice Tim... we had several climbing flat pods like Lazy Housewife but OH decided on pencil pods only???????
;D

I have 2 wigwams with flat pods on, a lovely yellow waxy bean.  I do love beans.  Had a couple of beans from each wigwam, but I am hoping for our first good picking tomorrow.

We had our first proper picking for tea yesterday EJ..

We have some pencil type beans. A dwarf variety called something like "yellow wax pod". Had the first picking on Sunday but they seem very prolific! Lovely too!

Here are my flat french, called Gold something....can't remember now.  Picked 2Ib 6oz today and the plants are smothered in flowers.

You're welcome to do our planting up any day, Emma!

Those flat beans look very nice, and I do like them. Only growing runners plus Cobra & Blue Lake and a purple one this year.
Would love to know what varieties of these flat beans people recommend though, that'd suit my clay soil.
