Allotments 4 All

I was just searching for recipes that included quinces and medlars and came across this FANTASTIC website about historic food.

I've been open-mouthed (and strangely silent) for at least 2 hours just browsing.

Trixie you are wicked you know,I didn't know this site which is surprising as I do love historical cookery and have  a decent library of books.

I only dare take a peep and didn't dare look too much at the moulds, I have several raised game pie moulds  and a few for ices and would happilly get more if tempted

Can't look, can look. Shan't look, but I know I ruddy well  will look.

I need a bird  mould for the top of my Quail pudding.

I treated myself on Saturday and bought "The best of Mrs Beeton's easy entertaining" for £2 at my local discount shop.
I'm a big fan of hers after making rhubarb&orange jam from bbc food portal.

That's another few hours of my life consumed with learning about something I know nothing about  :)

I didn't realise 'Mrs Beeton' was born and did her work in the 18'00s.

I thought she was a housewife from the 1940's.

History was never my strong point ..
