Was just going to post a picture of the fig, bemoaning the fact that some of those lovely green fruit would go with the 'June drop'.

As you can see - we don't have to wait for the drop - many are yellowing already.

Bit sad?

?? Not that cold since they budded? South wall. Watered modestly since signs of life.

My HUGE Spainsh fig tree has decided not to fruit this year! I must say I feel very 'put out!'

I read that figs need loads of water while fruiting? Over the winter ours lost all the little fruits that are meant to turn into figs the following year, but the ones that are developing now look as if they might grow large enough to crop.

 ??? ??? ???
Can you buy dwarf fig trees to grow in pots? don`t have a lot of space left.

last year mine dried out and dropped all its fruit - i was gutted  but the tree was in a pot and had been for 4 years so it was my own fault.
I planted the tree in the ground this winter and hopefully it will grow away and give me a good crop this year. So far so good with lots of baby figs developing. The upshot of it having spent 4 years in a pot is that the ends of the branches are really nodey!

I've always been told that figs like to be pot bound.

Certainly helps to control its 'rampancy' - ours is bounded by stone slates - an 18" square.
