Allotments 4 All

It appears that i have some little visitors in my shed, they have been eating my seeds  :o

There are a few rotted panels that make good escape routes for them so i'm not sure whether to block them up and then put traps down, or to use some other technique.

Any suggestions would be appreciated  :-\

I'll watch this thread with interest, windy.we have problems with mice this year, eating peas and even seedlings, standing looking at you, not bovvered, not sure what to do as it's all the plots  >:( :)

It's next to impossible to keep them out. If rodents become a problem I poison them, but it's rats rather than mice. They're always round my shed, but they very rarely do any harm.

seen a few rats aswell but their not (i hope) in my shed!

will have to put everything in mouse-proof containers and block up the holes...

was considering abducting a local cat and seeing how many she locates ;)

i'm afraid poison looks like the only real option as trapping would take forever :-\

Traps are no good with rats about; they catch the rat by the leg or the hair, and it drags the trap off with it.

in my opinion traps are best. i put mars bar on mine and last year i caught 13. this year i have caught 4 up to now

that's a waste of a mars bar  ;D ;D

live and let live, we have only had a few field mine so far but i have not seen them in my shed!

But as i am sealing it this weekend i am sure i will see them!!

I know fellow allotment holders have got mice in there shed, and i know they have been though my compost bin as i have seen the droppings.

I found a dead one in my water butt when it fell on its side it must have climbed in and drowned and its been burried on the path.
