my wife has just informed me that we are having salad for dinner (with pork chops) so we are going to use lettuce out of the greenhouse for the first time this year, its days like today that make it all worthwhile.

Not fair - none of ours has grown.... we were out there in our lunch hour staring at a couple of sorry looking pairs of leaves that have been threatening to grow for weeks now  :-[ :(

had to have shop bought lettuce - tastes of nothing! made the mistake of buying tomatoes from the supermarket the other week too, they were vile!

I could harvest my lettuce now, but they are only 2 inches high at the most, with 3 leaves. Less than a mouthfull, even if I ate the root!

Roll on summer 8)

you have more than Ive got
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

When did you sow yours in the GH - I tried a corn salad type in the GH November and it all died on me.

Our winter lettuce , under open ended cloches up at the allotment, are still ok but coming to an end.

Mine are just the same & I've got loads of them all the same type & I want to grow lots of different ones.  I'm tempted to put them all into one sandwich but I have put a few into one of Lidl's long windobox things & put it in the greenhouse.

The Hilde are finished but the Winter Density is still going well as are the rocket and mizuna

We use Bronze arrow, Stoke and Loos tennis ball from HDRA normally but put two sorts of Endive and two Chichory out last year... so didn't bother with lettuce, still have rocket in the G'house but itis beginning to bolt, the Claytonia is coming on well though and the sorrel is just starting..
Bet I can find some garlic mustard and land cress as well if I have a lokk around..
;D
