Porridge

Could someone tell me if it is ok to give porridge oats (uncooked) to birds

Yes its OK Richard.  In the past winters, but not this year so far, I have put out porridge oats for the birds, especially the blackbirds who just love it.  Sometimes I have put the oats in a pan and sort of cooked it and put the porridge out for the birds to break up.  They do eat it.   ;) ;)

Richard. I asked the same question last year. I had bought a box of a different brand and I didn't like it. The birds really got stuck in.

I had some small bits of cornflakes at the bottom of the pack, so put it on the bird table. They didnt touch it, and I had to scrape it all up to put in the bin(the rain got to it) Maybe I just have fussy birds :-\

My neighbrough gives porrage oats dry to birds, mine go to my hens as treats they love it for a change to the norm.
