Jerusalem Artichoke flowers cut last Sunday. Seem to keep well.

Yes,  I picked the first of mine on Wednesday - no pictures though. My family were amazed at what wonderful flowers they are ...
The impossible is just a journey away ...

Lovely bonus! and lovely pic too :)

Sadly I didn't get to drink the chateau wotsit. A friend of ours bought a load of empty crates, took them apart and stuck handles on the ends of the pieces with the picture then sold them as cheeseboards.

clever eh? :)

Mine are a fraction of their normal size due to the drought, and no flowers. I think it's time to get rid of them.

Easier said than done Rob... they'll probably grow more vigerously from the bits you miss... mine always seem to... when they get crowded they don't do as well...

They're very hard to get rid of in one go, I agree. The way to do it is to dig what I can, leave that bed empty next spring, and dig the rest out as they emerge. Then I can put something tender in there next June. I've only really grown them as a screen to give myself a bit of privacy, and the gap in the hedge is well grown over now.
