Hello to everyone,
My first time on this site so I just thought I would say hello.
Fairly new to the allotment game as Ive only had one since August.
I am in the process of digging over my plot which is a sea of bindweed !
I have got about a third of the way down so far and tiering the beds as I go.
Have planted a few things like onions which are doing ok.
Any ideas as to what else I can plant would be welcome.
Anyway just thought I would introduce myself and hope to be speaking to you soon.

hello dave, welcome to A4a

well done digging :P and getting hunions off to a start!
still time to sow Texsel greens, lettuce (winter), radish, winter spinach and Garlic. Overwintering broadies and spinach in October, transplant rubub and plant garlic in November. I hates to see idle ground I do ;)

Happy plotting, look forward to your pics and posts - tiered beds! :o :)

Welcome from me too, it sounds like you have got your plot at about the right time, as you can get a few overwintering crops in (onions, garlic, broad beans, overwintering spinach), and you will have plenty of time to prepare for the spring busy-busy time  :)
The impossible is just a journey away ...

A big WELOME from me Dave.  I do not have an allotment, (more of a gardengirl myself ;)) but always like reading about other A4A successes.  Look forward to hearing all your news :)
Happy gardening all...........Pat

Hi Dave,
You will like this site, Everyone is so helpful. I planted garlic this morning. I had to wait for  a bit of spare ground as I only have half a plot at the moment. My advice is to plant as you dig cos then you get some encouragement when you see things growing.
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"
