A Griersonianum hybrid which I raised from seed in 1961 (and which took 17 years to flower). The line across the lower part of the picture is the guy rope holding up another large rhododendron which blew down in the March gale.

Earth fills her lap with treasures of her own.

Lovely pics Hugh.  Your rhododendrons are much more advanced than mine.

Life is like nectar sweet but sometimes sticky.

Lovely!!

How big is your plot?  the pictures suggest it is quite large.

I would love a more 'rural' garden.

Abount an acre in all, of which about a half is woodland which is interplanted with rhododendrons.  Most of these I have grown from seed taken from species and sub-species rhododendrons, and as I was not always sure of the male parent most are technically hybrids, although the rhododendron Fortunei (next month) are true.

rosebud

I`m sorry to disappoint you Rosebud (and eileen), but following the actions of the censorship committee on the Watershed Board last month my jokes no longer appear on this site.

Great Pics from your 'estate' Hugh. Looks like ower Erics got serious company in the big garden category.

Hmm perhaps we should do a survey on garden sizes. Then again p'raps not, t'would make too many folks jealous. And we dont have a 'green with envy' smilie either! Lol

Seriously though Hugh do keep the photos coming so that we may see more of your garden.
