We have a table on our site where we put surplus items. (had quite a large courgette mountain there this year!)

Anyway I had o small plants labelled lime green toms, which seemed interesting so I potted them up and fed and watered them.

They grew well ;
but how do you know when they are ripe - as the are green :-\

anyone else grown these before?

glow, these are the ones that GLOW in the dark  ;D

they will be ripe when slightly soft to the squeeze - could be green sausage or green zebra - both really lovely tasting toms - am sure there will be other green ones as well

And they become almost transparent....you will see what I mean when they are ripe.  They take on a different hue - almost yellow green and you can see the flesh within.  Yum!

in that case they're not ready yet - but been as they're in pots and not toooo big I might have to bring them home so the kids can watch them

Green sausage is usually far more laid back/horizontal in my experience but great taste.. my sad tom. book also lists Green Grape, green Pineapple, green and gold, and green skin longkeeper with pics... it's sad and I am as it is in French, and I'm not bilingual!!!
