Anyone got any recipes that might tempt my gooseberry-hating family? Did Gooseberry fool last year but they weren't`that impressed!

Gooseberry and apple crumble is lubberly.  So is goosegog jam and goosegog chutters.  I did goosegog pie last year - ala Delia, but to be honest, if your family don't like them, I don't think they will go for any of those...well, except the crumble I guess as you could use more apple than gooseys....

They do make great jam so how about jam based puddings in the out season?
???

... anyone got a goosegog ice cream or sorbet recipe please?

Gooseberry and elderflower wine is one of the best I ever made.

We like gooseberry sauce with mackerel. It goes really well. You just cook the goosegogs add a little sugar (not too much) and a little cornflour to thicken. Takes the greasiness away from the fish. Try it you may be surprised

When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

I've got a recipe for gooseberry gin/vodka, but we haven't tried it yet.  Will post it in the drinks section if anyone's interested.

Greyhound, that sounds interesting - just catching up on posts as I have been away!  Please could you post the recipe as I have lots of gooseberries to use up.  Thanks T.
