Allotments 4 All

Sorry to ask once again for a plant ID... this seems to grow in pots each year but I don't know what it is... unfortunately there are no pictures of it properly in flower but when it's alive the stem and leaves are grey and the flowers an amazing pink colour. The seeds look like poppy but the plant is not alike. Can anyone identify this for me, please?

I can't see it either CC.  Are you adding it under the "Additional Options" facility when you post or are you using Photobucket or something similar?

                I'm using Blogger to store pictures on and then copy and paste the URL between the html image tags in a message. Don't understand what I'm doing wrong, always worked before.

It looks like the problem is a routing issue between where this site is hosted and where your pictures are hosted.

There have been a few internet problems over the last week or so (yahoo, myspace to name but two), due to power issues.

If things are not back to normal tomorrow, then I'll ask my host to look into things.

In the mean time, here is the photo.

After all that it is fairly easy. Lychnis coronaria. Also comes in white and white with a red eye!

Or otherwise known as Rose Campion. Great for harvesing seeds. Varying shades of pink as well as white etc.

I can confirm: Lychnis coronaria, otherwise known as Dusty Miller. I grew a load from seed a few years ago and I like it a lot. It can seed about a bit but i tend to dead head it so its not a problem. It can repeat flower a bit if you are prompt in deadheading. If it doesnt repeat the deadheading tidies the plant up a bit as it can look a bit ropey when it has finished flowering.
