Hi all, I found some insecticide in the shed that says it can be spayed on edible plants and eaten the same day. It`s B&Qs own brand but it contains Pemathrin and Benethrin (or something like that). Does anyone know if its organic or acceptable or whatever?

Try spraying with a jet of water, I find it works - and its definitely safe!

Soapy water, Jenny?

In response to original question I think the second chemical may be Bifenthrin which is not organic.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I`ve heard about the jets of water for things like blackfly but not so much for getting caterpillars out of cabbages - or stopping them in the first place. Netting and fleecing seem to have limited success.

There are fatty acid sprays that are counted as organic.

I just use plain water Tim, as long as you catch them early enough, it seems to work well.
