I am quite pleased with gdn this year. More colour, thanks to A4A.The pots and baskets were put on patio to make it easier for d.i.law to water.First ever pumpkin.Starlings just devoured a loaf of bread/ The plot stand was one of the last things Charlie made for me before he was confined to wheelchair. Very small veg/salad area. Rubbish at taking pics.

You should be very proud Lorna! So much lovely colour, and lots into a relatively small space.

;D

supersprout

:o :D Lorna, that's a wonderful sight, especially the runners and pumpkin ;D
What do the family say? They should be well impressed!

Georgie

It's coming on a treat, Lorna.  I think the lilies work really well with the cordyline and like others I'm impressed with your veg.   ;D

Thanks folk. Just realized I didn't post the plant stand, probably I was thinking about my afternoon dental appointment ;D That turned out OK no fillings etc just a quick clean. Supersprout the females in the family think it is ok and are glad of radish, lettuce , spring onion. No ripe toms yet or cus. They are waiting for runners John wouldn't notice if I had a hot air balloon  parked in the garden ::)

What a lovely place to sit and enjoy
Amazing pumpkin - mine are only just flowering
When did you plant it?

lorna

Flossie. I thought I was clever and started keeping records on PC. Had a problem and lost info so handwritten diary from now on. I did have a look and my little marker was still there. Apparently the seed was sown beginning of March (in the greenhouse) I think I planted out the second week of May.

wow, gorgeous lorna.  you have been busy. love the lillies, mine are just about to open.

MrsKP

how exciting Lorna, I love it all and you've got such a lovely big play pen for the birdies !!!

You're men really do have the knack don't they.   Charlie's pot stand is fabby and was it John who made the bird feeder ?? if so he's allowed to be a vague and dreamy !!

Well done you!

Wondered where the pot stand was Lorna :D  What a nice memory of Charlie for you :)  Your garden is lovely, especially the lilies (one of my favs) and your baskets ....and what variety of clematis is that, really pretty?  Very impressive vegies :)
Happy gardening all...........Pat

Mrs KP. Charlie was quite handy with metal work, woodwork, plumbing and decorating, he wouldn't touch serious electrics (didn't matter John is qualified electrician) Down the side where the little veg area is Charlie made a wrought iron  arch and wrought iron fence. He loved tools and even when he was confined to wheelchair he would still buy tools and say they would be handy for the family ;D
When we lost him I shared the tools out so that they all had something (he he, did keep screwdrivers, cordless tools for myself ;D ;D) Yes son John made bird feeding station.
Lorna
PS Gardengirl the clematis is Florida sieboldii. I planted it last year. Thanks for nice comments.

Fabulous...lots of work gone into that.  :)
Make the most of today, because you'll never have it back again.

And since no one else picked up on it, don't be so down on your photography skills, the pictures are as good as any shown on here. Nice to see your gardening efforts are paying off.
Gardening is the great leveller.

lorna

Thanks Eric. Won't forget pics of the lovely snowdrops  next spring that you kindly sent me.
Lorna.

Hyacinth

Well done, gal. Great pix of great subjects ;D Thanks for sharing.

prink13

Beautiful pics of a beautiful garden!

It looks very organised, you must be a good planner - wish mine was half that good

(P.S. I think that I live just round the corner from your son's garage - PM me if you would like to know where-maybe we could have a chat over a cuppa)
Kathi :-)

lorna

prink13. Yes just round the corner.(A little bird told me where you have moved to ;D ;D)  Oh dear planning is one thing I am not good at.It is only this last year that I have grown so many different things. All because of joining A4A  so many people on here always willing to give advice (and seeds :)) Going to PM you and look forward to meeting you.
Lorna.

Paulines7

Hi Lorna, I've just seen your photos.  The garden looks lovely and you must be very pleased with all the effort you have put in, very rewarding.   ;D ;D

Your pumpkin is doing really well.  Is this the one that the blackbird tipped over when it flew into your conservatory?

lorna

Pauline. The bird actually flew round my kitchen, seedling was on window sill, lost that one!! Put some more seed in , had to draw back my vertical blind in the bedroom and kept new lot (inc squashes ) on bedroom window sill. Wasn't going to lose them ;D ;D
