are going potty !!!  no sooner as i've chucked some more compost on them, new growth is up and out of the top of the collar looking like i've not touched it.

i'd better get a decent crop from my three back of the cupboard spuds or else it's going to be one expensive experiment  ;D

what do i do when the collar of the bag is at it's full extent, just leave the growth to get on with it ???

???

That's all I did MrsKP, but then this seems to happen (the left one). Very untidy looking but was a good crop. ;D

You can't please all of the people all of the time, but you can't upset them all at once either.

MrsKP

thanks Geoff, my three tatties have been enjoying a very sunny week up here, they seem to be springing along much faster than everything else.

can't wait to see the results.  erm........ how do i know they're "ready" .... i have no idea whatsoever whether they're early earlies, late earlies,  middles or lates or even if they were Asda or Morrison's come to that.

:P

I had two seed potato's left over and potted them just for fun ;D and sure enough they are coming along nicely and earthed them up for the first time today, twil be interesting to see how they fare compared to the lottie ones. ;D

P.S. Isn't it a bit dodgey sowing shop/supermarket spuds ???

MrsKP

i'll find out when i harvest and feed them to the OH and he keels over  ;D

seriously, i thought the dangerous bit about planting shop bought was risk of disease and no doubt i'll find that out as soon as i cut open the sack.  i wouldn't really want to inflict any permanent harm on him ............  8)

MrsKP, they say lift them when the foliage dies back.

I've got 6 Belle de Fonteney divided between 2 large muck tubs. To the top of the tubs now - they've been racing away this past week. I'm so excited 8)

I put a couple of Foremost in two tall swing bins at the begining of April, topping up with multi purpose as they grew. One bin is now to the top the other about 6 inches behind cant wait to tip them over and see what comes out.
