Not only have we got Bluetits in the front nestbox and the back one  BUT, we have a pair of wrens in my wriggly tree, i am so pleased we have been watching for a week or so never quite sure it was Wrens but today i got my binoculars and looked and yes it was the Wren, goodness me they sing to shatter ones ear drums, nice sound though i cannot wait until they hatch it can`t be very long now, oh how tiny they will be!!. Does anyone remember the photo i put on last summer of the wriggly tree Spooky tree the family call it.

hey Buddy, yep wrens make such a racket for such a tiny bird. They nest under the eaves of the room I'm in now every year. I hang a feeder out for the little ones - they queue up on the window frames waiting their turn. At the mo I see the parents whizzing in and out as I sit here.....always so lovely to know that the wrens are back...

Anyhow....what's this wriggly tree you've got? My imagination's working overtime ;D

That fantastic news Rosebud.

I was wondering about the wriggly tree too  ;D

Wrens do have a beautiful sound dont they?

Double check that they actually use the nest they have made as wrens tend to make about ten nests or so then Mr Wren will invite Mrs Wren to take her pick, lucky girl with all those residences to choose from  ;)

Almost every year a wren makes a home in my hanging basket, they use it for shelter but never actually nest in it, still its good fun to watch but all that hard weeks seems so wasteful.

Aw lovely Rosebud! Not ever had any birds nest in my garden before. Probably because of dog,cat and young daughter. They do nest two doors down and visit my garden for grub.  Had a blackbird wake us up at 5 am on Monday morning sounding his alarm. I guess there was a moggy about . I do have a wren that visits and I often wonder where the wrens nest.

I remember your Spooky tree!

saddad

Spooky tree sound like a contorted Hazel, or possibly but less common contorted willow!
