Dr Who Day ;D Has to be said that I'm more excited about the Dr Who Christmas special than I am about Christmas. I know, I know, I'm a geek. I do have to tape it though, coz at the almost last minute we're having friends over, and it would be extraordinarily rude of me to ban them all from the lounge for an hour at 7pm...wouldn't it?? :-\

We got our first TV when I was 12, and I eventually became a Doctor fan, but when I was in primary school I didn't know what the other kids were going on about sticking their arms out and going 'I - AM - MADA - LEK'

I loved Dr Who until the recent programmes which have completely turned me off.  I watched it regularly until we got that McCoy chap (I think) and it was spoiled for me as they were just taking the wotsit.  I watched Peter Davison and then after him kind of lost track.  I did watch a couple with the big eared bloke (name escapes me) but didn't like it.  I even kept watching when there was that horrendous actress who did nothing but scream her way through episode after episode which completely got on me wick  ;D   I loved it when it was Jon Pertwee and the Brigadier and then all of the Tom Baker stuff.  I have a feeling it will be watched in our house  :)      I was there at the very first episode and watched it for donkeys years without fail  :)

When I was in halls of residence at college, there were two programmes that got a packed television room ...

Dr Who  and Top of the Pops (with Pans People) ...  ;)

Colin Baker was the worst Doctor. Especially since he started out playing a guard on Galifrey in the first place. Was stupid to try and pass him off as Dr Who. Although a fellow geek says he's very good in the audio stories.

I think there may be twists ahead... anyone see the Children in need bit? Looks very much like the events at the end of the last series are going to play havoc with the Doctor.

I was very glad to see how it had been brought back.  Theme tune nice and eerie and skincrawly again after the starburst one (ugh),  decent actor in the part (hopefully new one will be same),  bit of intelligent writing and at long last effects that aren't wobbly cardboard.

Hubby is a real fan and the start of the last series was the prod that got us to get a DVD recorder!

I really liked the new series. Was concerned about Billie Piper, but she came out well. P'd off with Eccleston for only hanging around for one season. Doesn't he know the Doctor only has a limited number of regenerations? >:( Still, from the Children in Need bit, Tennant looks like he'll work well. Roll on Sunday!!!!!!!

Who me? I'm not obsessed! ;)
