Hi everyone,

not been about much recently. Had a wonderful holiday in Rhodes for 10 days, total collapse on the beach with a pile of books  ;D ;D

but unfortunately the day after we got back my mum had a car crash  - some idiot girls (yes - girls!) came round a blind bend  on the wrong side of the road, span her into a telegraph pole and drove away!  >:( >:( :'( She was in hospital for a few days, so have been busy visiting her and feeding my father! Police know who the culprits are, have just got to find them - they have done a runner.

So - what I want to know is how come a lot of people have changed their profile pictures all of a sudden - Derekthefox and Lottie spring to mind buit there are others? I cannot find a relevant thread anywhere?! have I missed something or is it just a coincidence that a few of you fancied a change?  ???

Oh Daisymay, your poor mum! I hope she's Ok, and they get catch the culprits, horrible for you and family.
Well, I can't answer for Derek, I just got fed up with me, silly smile holding an onion!!! And discovered how to download pics I like from puter and onto here!! Now have loads of Mucha!!! Can finally eat onion!! Just fancied a change really!! Hope life gets easier for you all soon. Lotte :)

daisymay,

look at my smiling gentle face and know it's not gonna chance - at least not today ;)

sorry to hear about your mum - hit and run - the worst kind! have personal experience myself of that though luckily not ended up in hospital.
best wishes to  your mum and tell her to take it easy.

OMG Daisymay :o

Hope your mum is ok and the police find the people responsable. I hate people like that. Did you have a good holiday though ?

BAGGY

I don't intend to change mine.  I don't want people to wonder why I am called baggy.  Besides, it's cute.  (Heldi changed too and I miss Spook)
Get with the beat Baggy

Sorry about the bad news Daisy may, I hope your mother recovers ok. These things can be traumatic long after the incident, as I well know. As for my avatar, well Lottie politely declined to vouch for me, but the same applies, I got fed up of playing that ruddy guitar. I fancied a bit of breathing space, having changed a few other things, and so have a range of avatars which pop up at various times. Some people seem to like them ... I changed mine as a solo event, perhaps it just set a trend ...  ;D

Sorry to hear about your mum DM, hope she gets better soon and the police catch those silly little girls (not what I wanted to call them but it's polite).

Mrs Ava

Oh Daisymay, that is shocking!  Big bear hugs to your mum and hope she is healing both physically and mentally.  And big hugs to you and your dad at this poop of times!

As you can see, I am still me with my old nan.  Bless!  I should change it really, but loath the camera so will wait until another 'nice-ish' pic comes us. I reakon avatars change as the seasons do.....it is definately autumn now, I am sitting here with the window wide open, and brrrr it is chilly!  So as the nights draw in, people have more time to sit infront of their 'puters and 'play!

Look after yourself Daisymay!  :-*

Very sorry to hear that daiseymay, I hope your mum gets well soon, too many people getting away with these road traffic accidents, I hope the police catch them.

I thought it about time I showed my true colours just for tonite anyway. ;D

Wicker

Daisymay that is shocking - I hope it doesn't affect your Mum's confidence for driving again and that she doesn't suffer any longterm aches and pains.

As for the avatars - I think EJ is right some of us do seem to change it with the seasons, this is deffo my autumn one and nearer the end of the year I usually have something snowy (with cats!!).  Probably just change for the sake of change........

Ooooooh, Roy  :o ::)
Equality isn't everyone being the same, equality is recognising that being different is normal.

Really sorry, like everybody else, about your Mum's horrible accident Daisymay.  Hope she is recovering well and feeling much better and the police catch the people that caused the accident.

Would love to do something a bit different but I am here same as always without any avator.  I really admire some of the snazzy ones people have. I especially look forward to christmas when we get some of those lovely seasonal ones.   :) busy_lizzie

Maddy

Daisymay, thats apalling.  Hope your Mum recovers quickly.  I know I'm relatively new here so my avatar hasn't had time to change but I've had this one for about 5 years and some things just never change.

Roy...gosh!

Thanks everyone for your kind words. Mum is a lot better now thanks, out of hospital, refusing to relax, but then she is a mother so no shock there! The whole injustice of it all is kind of sinking in, they were meant to be in Barcelona this week on holiday, but are filling in insurance claims, doing police statements etc... instead!

An avatar eh! had no idea they had a posh name. I quite like my chimp, reminds me of the grin I have on my face when I am up to my knees in mud with a spade in my hand! Maybe work on a seasonal one for Christmas.

Thanks again everyone, your support is appreciated  :)

(had a wonderful holiday thanks Joji - everything was perfect - great food, hotel, weather and company! seems a long time ago now though!)

Glad your mum's feeling better.

Re avatar, I can't change mine, this is me.  :) Certainly more photogenic than my head. And reflects my personality with astonishing accuracy, I feel. Bwaaark buc buc (feathers cascading).
For myself I am an optimist - it does not seem to be much use being anything else.
