Another bit of excitement up the lottie for me, chewed to ribbons but refusing to die. :)

Question is how long should I leave em before picking? ;D

You can eat them tennis ball size and they are delish.  Sometimes you don't want a massive amount all at once so small is beautiful  :)

Great looking colly by the way  :)

;D Thanks for sharing my excitement Guys ;D, I can't quite get my head round how quickly these little fellows grow :o I took this piccy tonight, two days on, :o wine bottle for scale and consumption later ;D

Roy!  I should slap some cheese sauce on it pronto, before it develops witches broom, or gawd forbid, whiptail !!   ;)  ;D

P.s. A beauty !  ;D

And to think that I've got to go out & buy one this morning!

Pristine, Roy. But it's generally a good ploy to bend a leaf over the curd - otherwise it can easily go a nasty yellow.

The first time I grew caulis I picked most of them when they were really small, then regretted it as the odd one I missed grew a lot bigger. I always leave them till they're well-developed now.

Fantastic Roy! What variety is it?
Lottie-less until I can afford a house with it's own garden.

I know I will have made it as an allotmenteer when I grow my first cauli  ;D   Yours looks lovely and I hope you enjoyed it  :)   I think we're all so much more appreciative of veg when we've grown it ourselves  :)

I have no idea Moggle, all it says on the packet is B&Q Cauliflower All The Year Round, sow direct 98p. ;D

Wicker

Another "Congratulations" in order then, Roy - you're going from strength to strength!  :-*

If there is an A4A Show this year you should submit that pic, it looks like a winner to me.  We had cauli tonight (and last night) and now you too will know that there is no comparison to shop bought.

;D Thanks again Guys for all the nice comments ;) I still have waiting to give me a buzz, sweetcorn, leeks, purple sprouting broccoli, sprouts, parsnips, cabbage and pumpkins :o ;D

rosebud

Well done Roy that is a real beauty ;D ;D ;D.

Roy   the homegrown sweetcorn is fantastic but you must eat it as soon as you cut it (something to do with starch or some such thing).  We have just started eating our and it's gorgeous.  I wish it would grow all year round  :)

'All the year round' sounds like the variety.

I have a couple of 'late june' plants that I am trying to nurse, and aren't expected to do anything until next spring! I hope I get a cauli of my very own  :)

I bet yours was delish!
