There I was enjoying digging the late spuds, Romano and Picasso, and I started to notice a few nibbled spuds. Thought it must have been a squirrel or maybe a rat.

Pushed the fork into the ground to lift the next plant and reached down to pull a tuber from the ground only to find it strangely furry and with a long tail………..

He/she got thrown across the plot and I fell over backwards, not impressed!

Not nice, when that happened to me, at least it was the extremely sharp digging fork which  went through the rat!
The thought of actually touching one, rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

When I was an ickle girl, went to go and get eggs from favourite hen, and found her dead on nest  :'(. Picked her up to bury her, and B***Y rat underneath! Had nightmares for years.... Lottie  ;D

My OH was turning over the compost heap with the fork when a rat popped up, run up the fork handle, up OH arm.  OH did a back flip and was never seen again......

Euuuggghhh, that's disgusting :o I'll be making sure I wash my veggies extra well in future, to think there could be rats crawling over them and weeing everywhere.

I spent some time living in Fiji working on a reef conservation project and the straw hut we lived in had rats living in the roof. One night I kicked my feet out of the bottom on the mosquito net and one got in, it ran up the full length of my sleeping bag. I woke up when it got to my chest and opened my mouth to scream as it ran over my face. Its foot went in my mouth!!!!!  :o :o :'( :'( I slept on the beach for about a week!
