Allotments 4 All

Just noticed a touch of blight on some main crop spuds at home. The allotment ones are clear as far as I can tell.

If it would stop raining for more than 10 mins I would be giving them a spray!

First 2 lots OK. Our next lot are Lady Balfour, & I have my fingers crossed in letting her prove her immunity!

The ones grown at home are Arran Victory and Picasso. The Arran are showing just a few signs of the problem. This morning I picked off the effected leaves and binned them, forcast is for a drier spell so will spray tonight.

I have both varieties at the allotment along with Romano, all clear there so far.

I sprayed my potatoes just over 2 weeks ago and shall do the same this weekend, there is no blight on them but I am doing it just as a precaution.

I haven't been on the ball and have been very skint so I am relying on the crossed fingers.  I am also removing any suspect leaves - only one full Smith period so far in Lincolnshire though.

You are lucky, I have had 4 full periods in the last 2 weeks in Sussex.

And I will spray again at the weekend and then have to leave them too it as I head down to Devon to look after my parents farm for nearly 3 weeks while they are away on holiday.
