Do you grow these in England (or elsewhere) and what do you call them? I don't think they really are peas, taste different too. They are really nice and yield a lot.

Ina i dont know how they call them in england,but they know them,because i had some aldermanseeds from e.j,who bytheway gave me a nice crop,almost so much as yours.That is what you call a full sentence.

Grey Field pea, Purple podded marrowfat peas or in French Pois Gris.

Wouldn't be the heritage Purple Podded Pea, would it??

Just found something else: Dutch admiral pea.

Aha, pisum arvense (doesn't sound tasty either). Turns out that when they are dried they turn grey and then they are called grauwe erwten or pois gris in French, so they are the same Eric.

Oh jeez, I just read they shouldn't be eaten raw because they contain some toxin. While shelling I just ate raw ones in between, no more of that. Who said home grown veggies are healthy? I just poisoned myself.
