Allotment 2 update

I am very pleased with things here, partly due to the easy start I had but also the site has no shade so really suits certain crops:

Poppies and corn flowers on their way, chrysanthemums behind:

More toms, French beans Sherwood Lettuce: (The lambs lettuce did not like the recent hot weather)

Just hope we get enough rain to keep things going, just had a sprinkling so far this week but enough to keep the dust down.

Jerry - what a wonderful set of photos (also on the other threads).  You have a special touch!  Inspirational to a newbie like me (5 weeks and counting since getting our plot).

Saw you have late parsnips - I love them and have got some seed but think it may be far too late to plant.  How long have yours been in and do you think its too late to put any in now (also considering I live in the cold wilds of Yorkshire)?

Jerry i am a tomato lunitic but when i see yours,,,,,,,,,,,the look so good and you are proving something i always say you can grow tommies outside.The rest of the veggies are also great.Overhere they will say you have got green fingers.

The parsnips went in about 6 weeks ago, sown in compost drills. If you have space and dont mind small roots then I would dow some now. You will get a crop but it will be small.

Most of the toms were started indoors back in Jan/Feb and then moved to a heated greenhouse before going outside after frost. I plant them deep with a bucket of well rotted manure at their feet.

I am toying with the idea making a shelter for them to keep blight at bay though.

Very impressive. I just love looking at allotment pictures, thanks for showing.
Your set-up is so spacious and it looks very well cared for.
