Elderflower time that is!   I see the flowers in my part of Essex are just starting to open.  I shall have to ready myself for the creation of cordial!!!

I love the stuff.  I like it with sparkling spring water  :)  Never made it though.  Might be able to as we had plenty drooping over our wall from next doors  :)
I came, I saw, I composted

Oisin,

Click on the link that Derbex has supplied for past info ...

Shall be hunting down the elderflowers myself tomorrow!!

The elderflowers seem to be slower to flower this year, most

I have seen are still in green bud, however did find about 25 heads,

so enough to make a batch of something ;D

Wait until they are absolutely open to get the most fragrance from them.  And make sure you tap them gently to get out any buggies that may be lurking.  ;D

Will do EJ.

I must learn to be patient, but the slightest glimpse of an elderflower

head and I go mad !!

P.S.  Why do they always seem to have a jungle of stinging nettles

growing at the base of the tree... :-\

Mine are surrounded by brambles!  And of course, the biggest and most abundant flowers are just out of reach!
