Hi Plocket - it looks like you had a great time in a lovely location (and the weather looks better than it was here too!)!

Thanks for sharing and welcome back!!

Hi Plocket,great pics  ;D

It looks a beautiful area, and what a great view.

Love France..........great food.........great place.

Diana

Glad you enjoyed yourself - good weather by the look of it too!

I love Cap Gris Nés too. When we lived in Kent, we used to pop over for a picnic there + back via cheap-plonk-city!

It's a bit far from NE Scotland now - but your pix bought back fond memories.

Quite spooky there sometimes though - with all the defences half sunk in the dunes.

Hi Plocket welcome back, great pictures, looks a lovely place. ;D ;D ;D.

oooo, Lovely Plocket, and I rather like the wind turbines.  Am always amazed at their size!  Fab Gite!

Funny you should say that about Les Eoliennes Adam - I quite like them. I find them elegant and of course much better for the planet than nuclear power! The group of windmills near us provides electricity for 94,000 houses apparently - not bad hey?

Thanks to everyone for your comments. We all had a lovely time and I've nearly caught up with the washing now!

yes they are good for the enviroment and wow! are they small homes there?? i think all them would power about 2 homes in Britain over here, heating i imagine!

they just seem to take over the landscape

Wonderful pictures Plocket, and lovely place.  Glad you had a good time, and thanks for letting us see them. Welcome back. busy_lizzie

Hi Adam! Funny but the homes we saw in the area we stayed in were pretty big! I know what you mean about them taking over the landscape - they are rather dominating - but at the same time they are so elegant, so powerful looking, very modern but we have to move with the times. I still believe that safer electricity is more important than a view! I believe that we should have similar power in this country and lets face it, we could have off shore windmills so wouldn't even have to spoil the landscape!

Margi

Hiya Plocket, and welcome home (belatedly!) Lovely pics, as usual.  Especially like the beaches, but I'm a bit of a beachaholic anyway - not for lying on, but for walking along with the wind in your hair and the waves in your ears (so to speak!)

Missed the wind turbines first time round, but went back to look.  I think they're wonderful, not only for what they're doing but how they look too.  Beautiful!

Hi Margi! That's exactly what I like about beaches the wind in your face and the sound of the waves on pebbles. I love nosing around for pretty stones and shells. The beach at Cap Gris Nez has some lovely stones with holes in if you look carefully - some are flints but some aren't. It's a lovely beach with something for everyone - except when it's high tide then you can't get onto the beach!

I love the windmills/turbines too - I'll find another picci....
