We have planted two rows of our early potatoes at the lottie this afternoon and have decided to plant another two rows next week until they are all in.  Anybody else staggering their potato crop in this way?   ??? busy_lizzie

Mrs Ava

More out of necessity than choice.  First lot went in as I had the bed cleared, about 4 weeks ago, another couple of rows went in last weekend when Ava did some more clearing for me and planted them, then another couple of rows will go in hopefully during this week - kids permitting - now that I have finished clearing plot number 2.

I have staggered mine for the same reason as EJ      I have also put some in tubs as well just to compare  :)   I've done mine without clearing  - on cardboard, then manure then sheeting over the top.

I came, I saw, I composted

Ceri

I stagger simply from utter laziness!

Mine are staggered by type -perhaps I don't plant as many as the rest of you so :

5 lots of 'bucket' -or old compost bag :)
1 row of 1st earlies went in a while ago.
1 row of 2nd earlies went in not quite such a while ago (great record keeping there  ;D)
1 row of salad -yesterday
1 row King Teds -yesterday

Some left over for 'late' buckets.

Jeremy

Not doing 'no dig' after the mice got my mains last year  >:(
