I'm holding out for the first of November! (Fat chance!)
I did suggest that making jam, chutney and the like would keep the place warm!

At the moment the thought of central heating is in my mind.  I am still hoping for a warm October.

ACE

It would be a very cold autumn if I had to put mine on before the clocks go back.

We've had those smart meters fitted so have a little monitor telling us how much we're using.
The OH is obsessed and checks it all the time.
Central heating ? I feel a blanket coming on  :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7:

Ours went on yesterday .Not going to make myself illl by getting cold
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

I have to get up and bake in the morning while on economy seven or while the sun is out to do the solar panels!

Turned my thermostat up to 19 on Sunday morning ready for the winter ( I keep it on 12 for the summer), I would rather go without something else than get cold.

Ours went on last night, just for a few hours, can't cope with being cold. Fleeces at the ready  :happy7:

Have been getting ours working properly this week. It's the first time since getting the pellet boiler fitted that we've needed it, as last winter we just shivered to keep warm.

Ours is on all year to heat water but the radiators have independent thermostats so haven't been on for months.   Possum and I have done the seasonal clotehs swap and all summer stuff is now in te attic and jumeprs and warm clothing has been brought out and refreshed.

We've also swapped flip flops for slippers and got out the blanlets for snuggling on the sofa.   OH has been seen weraing his cardi.   Radiators are still off for now.

I will hold off turning the gas back on until October but used the tumble dryer for the first time yesterday.

I could do the same but as it has not dropped to be that cold yet it would be a waste of time down here on the sunny sarf coast. I suppose  up there in the frozen wastelands of the north you will all be sewing the goose fat vests on about now. Shorts and T shirts still the order of the day here.

Ours went on the other day for the first time in months as we were both cold..(its unusual for the missis as she has some of those personal tropical moments ;) ) I left it on over night to make sure our trousers for work dried, but it went off in the morning and hasn't been on since :)
