I am so sorry you had to bear all this worry.  Fabulous news.  So happy that her scan is clear now after what sounds like a nightmare of unpleasant treatments.  Happy news indeed.  Hug for you.

Thanks Galina

Not in the same class as beating cancer for which I offer sincere congratulations but I have a new foot and it's a lot less painful than all the fear mongerers predicted.

Had a problem with a deteriorating bunions and double jointed middle toes detaching from their metatarsals so have had the big toe straightened and the two next door metatarsals shortened and re-attached to their toes.   Turns out the surgeon uses the latest techniques combined with excellent local anaesthesia so it's not much worse than having constant pins and needles.  Even now I'm just on oral painkillers - ordinary nurofen and paracetamol but in big doses.  Magic.

In two months time I get a new left foot and so should be able to garden again by early summer.   Meanwhile I'll just have to supervise the apprentice who is very slapdash at weeding and pulls up treasures because he's too lazy to learn to discriminate.  He's good in the veggie garden where blitz hoeing is fine but he has  black thumbs so can't sow or plant anything as they just die.

Doesn't matter as I can sow and pot on in my wheelchair.

Wow Obbelix that all sounds awfully hi-tech and almost miraculous! How brave you are. It takes me all my time to go to the dentist!

 today's good news!

Hi Grawc.  Have to confess to being wussy about dentists too but I really do need my feet for gardening and dancing and dog walking.

Your babies look very sturdy.   What will they grow up to be?

More good news.  OH has just agreed I can hire a gardener through the local scheme for helping the unemployed.  My neighbours have recommended a lady who works for them now.   She gets to work a certain number of hours without losing her benefits so I hope she has some time spare.

Betty that is such wonderful news, so happy for you all.

I have some good news but very minor compared to yours Betty & the Bionic footed woman :icon_cheers:. I posted last year about losing weight. I needed to lose a total of 77.5lbs. Today was whoop whoop day as I now need to lose 13.5lbs. I've set myself mini goals & rewarded myself when I've reached. As getting to below 1 stone is a biggie I am now sitting in a pair of long black leather Dune boots. I also have a grey suede pair. OH is in despair & asks how many pairs does 1 women need :drunken_smilie:. As my legs are slim enough to wear long boots I really don't can't answer that question :drunken_smilie:.

Oh gosh GJ I really need a "like" button! Oh so well done you!! I am both over the moon delighted for you and totally jealous because I haven't done it! :icon_cheers: :blob7: :sunny:

Grannyjanny - well done you!  You must be very pleased and deserve to be proud.  Lots, is the answer to your hubbies question.  I've warned mine I shall be needing new shoes as I will have changed size.   Don't want any high heels but some sexy or pretty shoes and sandals would be nice for when i'm not in gardening boots and wellies.

Good luck with the last 13.5lbs.   Brilliant.

today's good news!

Congratulations...but
I'm jealous!
Looks to me as if they are onions but it reminds me I still haven't got my leek seeds in.
So short of time it is unbelievable.....

Lovely to hear some good news and wonderful things happening.

As for me after a gloomy year of not much work and court battle after my identity was stolen by boss I have finally got a new job at Yorkshire water starting in March.

Excited to be moving from lancaster for a new start, but loathe to leave another garden after all the work and love Ive put into it.  Will be looking for a Halifax/Bradford allotment site to join the list ASAP.

Good luck Sunloving.  I hope the new job works out well and that you find an allotment site to join and plenty of new friends.

Aden Roller was right - the photo was onions. Also I have leeks, sweet peas, garlic, peas, broad beans and various other things coming up. No sign of germination from the chillies so I'll sow some more.

Sunloving, sorry to hear you've been having such a tough time1 Glad it seems to be resolved now. Good luck with the new job.

Good news here is:

  • there's no snow - just light rain
  • I've bought my seed potatoes locally so saved on postage
  • best of all... my mother appears much improved after two weeks of infection
  • and my sister might put in an appearance to give me a few hours break after 24/7 for the last 2 weeks

Still waiting though.....just need a little :help:
