cant download flash player

i cant play videos on the net, it says i need flash player
tried to download scores of times, but no joy-what am i doing wrong
can you help

Go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/  and UNTICK chrome browser unless you use it then click download and follow the instructions on the screen.

If that fails it is likely your antivirus is stopping it installing so you will have to disable it whilst installing.

Make sure you are not running any messenger services or other browser windows.

If the above do not work uninstall your old flash version first by following the instructions at http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
and try again

I had a similar problem and it drove me mad.  In the end it was simply.  Try going to Tools in Windows explorer and  if Active X filtering is ticked then untick it.

As you do not say if you have had any error messages etc
Can not narrow down the problem for you. 

If you check through the list at it will tell you whether the player is installed or not etc.

flash player is installed. but still wont run, i think i will have to give up on this one,its far to tecnical for me -it worked 3 weeks ago with no probs ?

JUST TRYED AGAIN ! this time it says....download successful .....but it still wont work, this is driveing me mad

still no joy with flash player-computer says flash player sucessfully in stalled but it still wont work    , any help in easy to understand words please, as i am not the sharpest @ I.T
i am starting to think that the only way to get flash is to buy
a new computer

What browser are you using? Firefox or Internet Explorer for example?

Have you tried shutting down your computer then restarting? Sometimes these programmes need a restart to get going.

And if that fails, have you tried uninstalling it and downloading and installing again?

The other alternative is to install the Chrome browser which already has flash player built into it and use that instead to view flash content

I use Ubuntu (Linux) and a very old pc and had this problem, which was caused by flash and the processor not working together. I won't go any further unless you are using Linux too!!
