We are lucky to live in a lovely part of the country, my rear garden wall is the border of the local Castle Estate behind which is a small wooded copse with some red squirrels which come to feed in my garden.

last week the Castle owner called round and said the softwood was to be harvested but the hardwood was staying and to apologise for the noise for a couple of days (nice man) When I mentioned the squirrels he said the Red Squirrel ranger had been (at his request) and checked the area and no dreys (nests) where found, most where in the woodland to the rear of the Castle.

A huge harvester machine made short work of the woodland, and the difference in light into the garden and house and the improved view is brilliant.

And best news of all, a week after the noise and caos have subsided, our little red friends have returned to the feeders......................RESULT.

More photos of our red's soon
