In memory of Grandma (Val)

As most of you are aware one of our longstanding members Grandma has passed away suddenly.
Many members have written kind words to Grandma's family -her son Daren and daughter Diane.  These have been read by the family who have been very moved by the how many responses there have been and by the kind thoughts and  messages they have read. Grandma's funeral is this Thursday and a selection of the messages you have written will be read by the Vicar. The role of this forum in Grandma's life and the happiness it brought to her are to be mentioned too.

Some members have asked if we can do something to commemorate Grandma,  her life and her contribution to this forum, and we are sure many more have thought the same.

We have asked Daren and Diane how they felt this could best be done. Some of you may know that Grandma's other passion in life was fishing and she was very active in helping less-abled anglers to overcome their difficulties and take part in this activity. Apparently Grandma was rather a good angler herself (coming 3rd place in the National Women's final) and she also encouraged youngsters and less-abled with teaching and mentoring.

The angling club where Grandma was so active has a fund to help its less-abled members and  they have set up a link with the Funeral Directors so that any donations can be used to continue the work which she was so passionate about. The club also intends to have a Cup in Val's name.

If any of you wish to remember Grandma in this way and continue to help the  people she was so concerned about the link is available below.
If you wish to include your name and A4A it will help the family to know who was part of Grandma's life on here.
Please give if you wish, do not feel you have to if that is not right for you.
If you want to post on here that you have that is fine, but just that you have done. No amounts.

My contribution has been made now too. I understand that the funeral is tomorrow. I'm sure our thoughts and prayers will turn to Val and her family.
