what is it?

This was lying on the path in my front garden. i thought it was a child's toy until it moved. it's about 4-5cm long and almost 1cm thick. Does anyone know what it is please?

Yes it certainly looks like the photos I've googled. Thanks Pigeonseed and Fork! I've never seen one before. The moths look absolutely beautiful but the larva is just a bit scarey! :o :o :o

I don't have any fuchsia in the front garden - apparently its favourite munch - but my neighbour does, so maybe it'll find its way into her garden!!

it looks like its got a wee sad face,i like it,sometimes ugly can be beautiful to.

My neighbour had one last year........stunning and huge!

I had one many years ago. They are amazing  :)
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.

   sorry i never saw this thread before as i don't  read everyone but that is what i found on my lotty yesterday i posted on the wild life  asking what it is, so now i know, i to has never saw one before
