Thanks all very much! I have just returned after being whisked away on a mystery three day trip by OH and kids to celebrate, ended up in a very arty hotel in Brighton! They managed to keep it a secret as well, so I genuinely had no idea where I was going or what we were doing. OH also arranged a spa day for me and my daughter (it is her 18th next month), and we had two fantastic evening meals out, one in an oyster/fish bar, and one in a contemporary Indian restaurant on my actual birthday night. Best of all, OH had secretly contacted and old school friend on mine who I have not seen in over 10 years and he met up with us for my birthday dinner, it was great to see him and catch up! He hadn't seen our children since they were little, so it was a bit of a shock for him to see them looking so grown up! They behaved themselves for a change though....and were fascinated to hear what I was like as a teenager....oops!  :-[

Guess what my main birthday present is (or rather will be)? A new shed for our house garden! Typical eh! Wonder how long this one will take to build....... ::) ;D
