As soon as I get some free time in the next few days I am going to sow some Chillis in the propagator, some leeks on the windowsill, and maybe celeriac too.

What are you going to sow first?

I have already started some onion seeds off, wont be planting anything else for a while now...

kelsea onions as soon as I get some compost then leek and cauliflower in 2-3weeks time.  In addition to correct timings I have to gradually build up to it in the hope that the wife does not throw a dicky fit brought about by having a sudden increase of pots of mud around the house.

Just some Scotch Bonnet Chilis for now - a quick fix will keep me going for another month or so!
Moved to Portugal - ain't going back!

tomatoes end of january in the propagator, worked last year  ;D

I think I'll leave everything for quite a while yet. Probably won't sow anything before Feb.

I always sow celeriac seeds at the beginning of January. They are very slow growing. I usually sow chillies about now too, but have so many in the freezer that I've decided to give them a miss this year. Aubergines need a long time to get going too, but also a lot of warmth.

My first sowings were on 6th March last year, but I'll probably sow some sweet peas soon to replace those I've lost to the frost.

I replaced the christmas tree with the heated propagator but so far only very hardy flowers are in ~ Echinacea, helenium, violas and larkspur. It makes the distance to spring a little shorter and ive missed the joy of checking for new shoots these last frozen months.

But i have sorted the feb envelopes ready for action~ leeks, the first chillies, aubergines and tomatoes and more hardy annuals.

but this year i do have a 14x 10 greenhouse to put the hardy things out into once they have outgrown the windowsills  :)

happy sowing
