It must have been cold last night- ice on the inside of the double-glazing this morning! Haven't had that for many a year but with an end of terrace with no cavity walls to insulate that room is very hard to keep warm.Brrr!

Brrrr indeed..we've got -5 at the moment..outside ::) ;D
I have go outside every hour to give some hot water on chickens drinker or it will freeze over. Poor chucks ..but at least they get hot breakkie every morning and as it is so cold even during day I might give them hot meal at the end of day too. Nothing nicer than going into bed with belly full of warm food ;D....and same instructions for you too Caroline ;)

BBBBRRRR indeed,thats cold! Ive never seen such heavy frost here as we have today,the shrubs in the garden look so terribly sorry for themselves,actually worried if they going to be ok for the first time

I need to go outside to get something out of the garage - not looking forward to that.

Caroline, we used to have a room like yours - our youngest son's bedroom.  This year, after the first snows we took action and had the two flat walls (no doors or windows) drylined and insulated and did the same to the roof. Total cost about £300 but it is sooo toasty.  We are waiting for son to go away with Army Cadets in Feb before we do the plastering - so ATM he calls it his padded cell ;D ??? ::) ;D

Just sent Tony down to the shed for the tatties.brrrrr
When I get old I don't want people thinking
                      "What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
                    "Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

Sounds like a good idea, SMP, but our room is what used to be a shop on the end of the terrace (ex- brewery houses) so it has three outiside walls. One has a big "shop window", the opposite one has patio doors and the end wall has the chimney and one small window, so there's not a huge amount of wall left, plus there's a cellar underneath, which probably doesn't help!Our daughter's bedroom is above it and we insulated the loft above that, which made a big difference to her room but not the downstairs one. Surprisingly, the girls are happy to watch telly wrapped in blankets rather than put the gas fire on (or as well recently!)

Oh no, I couldn't do that!  :o
She is going to be an indoor baby scarecrow anyway, and will soon be posted off to her new parents.

I think I'll make another one today....
