Make one for free out of a washing/tumble dryer drum. Just stand it on some bricks or bolt som metal legs to it.

This is a tumble dryer drum.

Worked great for me

:D Wow! Neil ! That is brilliant ! I am sure we are all very proud of you ! I will take a look for one, when next we go to the rubbish tip . How do you get it out of the machine, is it difficult ?    I ,m sure that it would be very much stronger than the one I bought .  Thankyou for posting a picture of it too !   :) Debs

Ray uses an old washing machine drum, the one with all the holes in  :)

Thanks Debs,
I don't use it anymore as I converted it into a petrol shredder.
I asked on my local freecycle/freegle and someone had a drum already out of the dryer. I think you just unscrew the back and unbolt the drum.
Dryers are a lot lighter to move and I think the drums are bigger.

I've got the same, although it's only about half the height of the dustbin type. Got mine from freecycle.

This one very quickly rusted up and became so thin that as I picked it up to move it ,I put my fingers through it . It just crumbles ....and the chimney bit fell off the first week .   I wonder why they dont make them out of the same kind of longer lasting metal as your washing machine drum ?   Surely we should expect them to last longer than one year . It seems to me that they are only designed to dispose of waste paper bin stuff  rather than garden waste .   Debs    (still moaning ! )
