I pinch out the main growing point when the plants are about 2 feet high for a bushier plant.

I'm afraid I am not as fussy as the other I tend to allow them to get on with it themselves to a large extent.

What I would say is; keep the atmosphere around them a bit humid up to fruiting time to keep white fly away.

Then when the fruit sets keep the atmosphere drier to prevent botrytis forming on the fruit.

At the transition from moist to dry I give the plants a high potash feed then leave them to get on with ripening!

I only give them a drop of water as required from then on as I say I want to keep the humidity low.

This is how I grow them in beds; http://www.thegardenersalmanac.co.uk/Data/Peppers/Peppers/peppers.html

This is them just after planting out this year;

I alternate pots/beds to fit in with my greenhouse rotation system. This year they are in my 8x6 which has a concrete flor hence the 'ring culture'

thank -you will see how i get on  :)

Can never understand the pinching out bit. They take up enough room as it is.

All I can add is do whatever is needed to keep fly away-of all the crops I grow peppers seem the ones most prone to fly-especially the green so and sos.

I always have a soft soap spray handy

Thanks  Making some soap liquid up now  :)

Hi Cleo - what kind of mix do you have for your soap spray?  Need to do something for greenhouse this year - growing peppers.

Unless you have a lot of plants, finger & thumb from day one works quite well.

I know this is a bit girlie Tim, but I am a bit squeamish about squishing bugs!  :(

I don`t make my own anymore-I use `Savona` but I`m not sure how available it is now as regulations change so quickly

Managed to kill quite a few today - muddy fingers work a treat!

Pinching out delays fruiting, so I avoid doing that.

I soap-sprayed mine yesterday but wondered- does it do the flower buds any harm if they get sprayed?
