hi all

don't know if anyone can help me, i started off my marketmore cucumber early Feb and its been kept in a cool dining room. i have loads of trouble growing cucumbers out of a whole seed packet this is the only one that seemed to work.

my problem is its now flowering and i think this may be to early, i have been reluctant to put it in my cold greenhouse as last year they all died

any ideas anyone ???

That plant looks OK to me.

You could remove the fruit and flowers  and tendrils rather than stress the plant and stick a longer support in to cater for further growth.

I would say it is still to early for a putting it in a cold greenhouse, that is inviting disaster!

It's looking good, if you are happy to leave it in the dining room then go for it and get early fruit, you can move it later.

You said you sowed in early February.  Maybe that is too early so this is the problem.  Cucumbers are usually sown late March through to end of April.  I don't sow mine until late March / early April.  If you can, sow some more now.
All you do and all you see is all your life will ever be

I haven't even sown mine yet.... going in this week :D

I have only just sowed my cucumbers. I always do them around the same time as my squashes :o

Don't like to counter say, but these have been out since 25/4 - down to 47F.
But yes - do take off any fruit below 12" at least.

The one on the right was struggling from germination.

our burpless have been in the cold poly for 2 weeks now, not growing quickly but still growing  :)

i think i take off the flowers and just see how it goes, note to self 'stop getting excited and sowing things too early'  :-\
